　　The origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly government official named Chu Yuan. He was a good and respected man， but because of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfavor in the emperor＇s court.

　　Unable to regain the respect of the emperor， in his sorrow Chu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Low river. Because of their admiration for Chu Yuan， the local people living adjacent to the Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to search for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the river ough they were unable to find Chu Yuan， their efforts are still commemorated today during the Dragon Boat Festival.

　　這個節日的起源是屈原，中國古代有一位博學的官員。他是一位熱愛人民、受人尊敬的官員。然而，由于一位嫉妒的官員被陷害，他在朝廷中被皇帝冷落。屈原因為得不到皇帝的重視，在憂郁的情況下投汨羅江自殺。

　　由于對屈原的熱愛，汨羅江沿岸的居民們匆匆劃船在河里尋找屈原，把米扔進汨羅江，平息汨羅江的龍。即使當時沒有找到屈原，他們的行為直到今天端午節仍然受到人們的贊揚和紀念。

　　Traditions At the center of this festival are the dragon boat races. Competing teams drive their colorful dragon boats forward to the rhythm of beating drums. These exciting races were inspired by the villager＇s valiant attempts to rescue Chu Yuan from the Mi Lo river. This tradition has remained unbroken for centuries.

　　端午節最重要的活動是龍舟比賽。比賽的隊伍在熱烈的鼓聲中劃出了他們豐富多彩的龍舟。這項活動的靈感來自當時汨羅江畔的居民，他們劃船救屈原，這一傳統已經持續了幾個世紀。

　　Zongzi

　　A very popular dish during the Dragon Boat festival is tzung tzu. This tasty dish consists of rice dumplings with meat， peanut， egg yolk， or other fillings wrapped in bamboo leaves. The tradition of zongzi is meant to remind us of the village fishermen scattering rice across the water of the Mi Low river in order to appease the river dragons so that they would not devour Chu Yuan.

　　端午節最受歡迎的食物是粽子。粽子用米飯包裹肉、花生、蛋黃和其他材料，然后用竹葉包裹。粽子的傳統來自汨羅邊的漁民，他們把米扔進河里，平息河里的龍。我希望他們不要吃屈原。
