　　牧師宣布婚姻的意義是在于在上帝面前的圣約(the holy convenant in the presence of God)，并先后依次問:

　　Will you love her/him, comfort her/him, honor and keep her/him, in sickness and in health; and forsaking all others keep only to her/him so long as you both shall live?

　　是否愛她/他，安慰她/他，榮耀保守她/他，無論疾病還是健康; 并只守候在她/他身旁，不再尋找別人，只要一息尚存?

　　依次回答 I will (I do)后，就彼此宣誓:

　　I, (name), take you, (name), 我，(名字)，愿以你，(名字)，

　　to be my wedded wife/husband, 作我婚姻的'妻子/丈夫，

　　to have and to hold, 相互擁有扶持，

　　from this day forward, 而今而后，

　　for better, for worse, 不論境遇好壞，

　　for richer, for poorer, 家境貧富，

　　in sickness and in health,生病與否，

　　to love and to cherish, 誓言相親相愛，

　　till death us do part, 至死不分離。

　　according to God's holy ordinance; 正如上帝之神圣命定;

　　and there to I pledge you my faith. 此我以信為誓。

　　然后交換“那內在而屬靈恩典的外在而可見之記號”

　　(the outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace)的戒指。接下來是點同心蠟燭，象征二人成為一體，一個家庭。點完同心蠟燭以后，牧師“奉父子圣靈的名”(in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit)宣布成為夫妻。儀式最后以祝福和主禱文結束。

　　Dearly beloved, we are gathered here in the sight of God and in the face of this congregation to join together this man and this woman in holy matrimony, which is an honorable estate instituted in the time of man’s innocency. If any man can show any just cause or impediment why they may not be lawful joined together, let him speak now or forever hold his peace.

　　Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health and forsaking all others keep thee only unto her for as long as ye both shall live?

　　I do.

　　To love and to cherish till death us do part. There to, I pledge thee my troth. With this ring, I thee wed. With my body, I thee worship. And with all my worldly goods, I do thee endow.
