　　Y: We have solved the problem of price; now let's go on to the terms of payment, shall we?

　　T: OK. What kind of payment do you usually adopt?

　　湯姆：好的'。你們一般采用何種付款方 式呢?

　　Y: We usually accept the payment in U.S. dollar or irrevocable payment by L/C.

　　楊：我們一般用美元現金付款，或用不 可撤銷的信用證。

　　T: We can manage the payment in due course, but the problem now is that we are short of U.S.dollars. We can't clear off the payment at one time. How about we adopt the terms of payment by installments for this purchase.

　　湯姆：我們可以按期付款，但現在的問題 是我們美元短缺，我們無法一次將 款頂結清。這次交易我們采用分期 付款可以嗎?

　　Y: I'm sorry. This is really a bit hard on us. We usually don't accept differed payments. If you can't accept, I'm afraid we have to stop this transaction.

　　T: Well. If you promise to advance the shipment by one month, we'll agree to open an L/C.

　　Y: We will try to be punctual on the delivery. I hope your L/C can reach us 15 to 30 days before delivery, so that it'll make us easier to do the necessary arrangements. How is that?

　　T: That's good.
